Princess Themed Party
There’s something magical when children arrive to their friend’s birthday party to find that the house has been transformed into a far away land. There are so many little ways to make a birthday party special and add a sense of fun and wonder to captivated little minds.
For the next few weeks we will be providing suggestions on to how to throw fantastic themed parties, specifically relevant to the jumping castles we have on offer.
This week, it’s Disney Princess!
Invitations – Get onto the theme from the start. Use either pre-purchased invitations from a party store, or make them yourself by printing off invitations on pink or silver paper, using cursive fonts, and decorating them with pearl or gemstone stickers.
Decorations – Streamers, balloons, bunting and table cloths are quick and easy ways to bring light and life to a party. Choose bright pink, blue or purple to match our Disney princess jumping castle. Continue the theme with matching cups, plates, serviettes and cutlery which can be found at your local party store or at some Big W or Kmart stores. For an extra special touch, try adding princess tiaras to the table setting to make each guest a princess.
Food – There are so many creative ways to use food in a themed party. For princess parties, try making magic wand fruit sticks, fairy bread crowns cut using a cookie cutter, swirly sandwiches or gingerbread stars. The possibilities are endless, if you want more food inspiration, we highly recommend Pinterest. If you are not the creative type, serving food on large platters or with little pink toothpick flags that can be bought at a party store, create a lovely effect with little effort.
Cake – If you want to add something special to your child’s birthday cake and you aren’t confident creating masterpieces with icing, you could use a plastic tiara as a cake topper and pipe around the base. If you are feeling more creative, try a rainbow tiered cake using food dyes in the batter, or use different intensities of pink per layer.
Games & Activities – Create a grand entrance for your little princesses. On arrival, each princess is adorned with a treasure from the dress-up box and then has her photo taken. Music can also enhance the arrival. You can also add a princess flair to traditional party games such as dancing statues or pass the parcel by using theme songs from movies or princess lip gloss, rings or bracelets as presents. Another fun activity for girls, which can also double up as a take home present is cupcake decorating; pre ice the cupcakes and have the children decorate using lollies and sprinkles. Similarly, you can have the children make a silver foil crown or edible bracelet or necklace.
Goody Bag –
As an activity, your guests can decorate their own bags with sticker gem stones and fill them with lollies from a lolly bar. Strawberries and creams, musk sticks, raspberries, red frogs, jaffas and clinkers would work well with the pink princess theme. You can make your own printable colouring in book as an affordable goody bag filler.
